Description

This 1/2 day course offers training of the District Energy Operations process, as well as the Network Authorisation Process.  It allows candidates to gain knowledge of the issue and receipt of permitry on heat network sites (as opposed to traditional utility networks). It also allows candidates to develop their understanding of the assessing and authorising of those permitted to issue and receive those permits. 

Aims & Objectives

On completion of this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the reasons behind the creation of permitry systems and the need to control both the work activity, and the competence of those working on the District Energy Networks
  • Be able to describe the procedure to be used for assessing and authorising those who wish to issue or undertake work on the District Energy networks
  • Be able to describe the procedure to be used for applying to undertake work and the permitry documentation that should be used to make the application
  • Explain the process for authorising the work to go ahead and identifying if additional permitry is required for the works
  • Understand the cancellation/deferment and variation procedures
  • Understand the completion requirements before returning the network to service.

This Awareness course is essential for any individual at any level of the company, who needs to understand the requirements for  the issue and receipt of permitry relating to District Energy Networks. 

Mode for Delivery

The course is delivered by one of our fully qualified tutors, who use a variety of theoretical and practical methods, including group exercises, discussions and interactive PowerPoint.

Prerequisites

There are no set pre-requisites for this course. All candidates must possess the appropriate skills to perform their role; this includes suitable reading and writing abilities.
