An Unforgettable Day at the EUSR Conference & Awards
At Quinns, we were delighted to be a part of this impactful event and even more thrilled to have the privilege of sitting at the head table alongside the esteemed panellists. This gave us a front-row seat to the evening’s most compelling conversations and insights. The day and evening agenda was packed with sessions that highlighted key issues within the industry, including equity, diversity, and inclusion, as well as social impact commitments that are shaping the future of the sector.
One of the standout sessions of the day was the “Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Panel,” moderated by Louise Parry, FCIPD, Director of People & Organisational Development at Energy & Utility Skills. The panel brought together influential voices in the industry to discuss the urgent need for greater diversity and inclusion within the workforce. The panellists included:

- Mayokun – Mac Alonge, CEO, The Equal Group
- Jo Butlin, Founder, WUN – Women’s Utilities Network and CEO, EnergyBridge
- Dr. Mark McBride-Wright MBE CEng MIChemE FEI, Founder & CEO, EqualEngineers
This session was particularly important to us as over the past six months, we have significantly increased our commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) by implementing new initiatives, policies, and practices to foster a more inclusive and equitable environment across our company. Charlotte Evans and Heather Pippin (CEO) have both signed up to the WUN community (Women in Utilities) and therefore were delighted to witness Jo Butlin, Founder of WUN on the panel during the EUSR Conference.
Their discussion was both insightful and inspiring, exploring ways to promote a more inclusive and equitable industry. The conversation underscored the importance of social impact initiatives and the role of leadership in driving meaningful change across the sector.
Networking and Opportunities
The conference was also an excellent opportunity for us to connect with other businesses and professionals in the industry including some of our very valued clients such as Wales & West Utilities – saying hello to the friendly team really was a highlight. With over 450 senior industry professionals in attendance, there was no shortage of opportunities to network, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaborations. As sponsors, we had the chance to showcase our business to key decision-makers and gain valuable visibility among industry leaders. It was inspiring to see so many companies committed to innovation, sustainability, and progress in the energy and utilities sectors.
The high number and quality of nominations received across all ten award categories highlighted the sector’s incredible talent and outstanding achievements. It was a true celebration of the hard work, dedication, and ingenuity of professionals across the industry.
