QTS is a Dog Friendly Office

We encourage our staff to bring in their furry friends to promote positive mental health in the company.

The Benefits of a Dog-Friendly Office: Promoting Mental Health and Wellbeing at Work

In today’s fast-paced work environment, maintaining mental health and wellbeing is more important than ever. At Quinns Training Services, we believe that a workplace should not only be productive but also a place where employees feel happy, relaxed, and supported. That’s why we’ve opened our doors to our employees’ furry friends, and the results have been nothing short of amazing!

There are a number of reasons why we allow our staff to bring in their dogs:

1. Reducing Stress and Anxiety

Having dogs in the office has been proven to lower stress levels. The simple act of petting a dog can release calming hormones like oxytocin while reducing the stress hormone cortisol. Employees at our office have reported feeling more relaxed and less anxious throughout the day, thanks to the presence of our four-legged friends.

2. Enhancing Social Interactions

Dogs naturally encourage social interaction. In a dog-friendly office, employees are more likely to engage in conversations they might not otherwise have, leading to stronger workplace relationships and improved teamwork. This sense of camaraderie fosters a more collaborative and supportive work environment.

3. Promoting Physical Activity

A sedentary lifestyle is one of the hidden dangers of office work. Dogs require regular walks, and this encourages employees to take breaks and get some fresh air. These small bursts of physical activity can improve overall health, reduce fatigue, and even spark creativity.

4. Boosting Employee Morale and Job Satisfaction

Bringing pets to work is a perk that can significantly boost employee morale. It’s hard not to smile when you see a wagging tail or hear the joyful bark of a happy dog. This positive atmosphere can lead to higher job satisfaction, lower turnover rates, and a more vibrant workplace culture.

5. Improving Mental Health

Mental health challenges are common in the workplace, and they can affect anyone. Dogs offer unconditional love and companionship, which can be incredibly comforting, especially on stressful days. The emotional support provided by dogs can help employees manage their mental health better, leading to a happier and more resilient workforce.

6. Creating a Positive Company Image

Finally, a dog-friendly office reflects a company culture that values work-life balance and employee wellbeing. It shows that your organization is forward-thinking, compassionate, and committed to fostering a healthy work environment. This positive image can resonate with clients, partners, and the broader community, enhancing your brand reputation.

Meet some of the pups!

Meet Digit, our delightful pink Cockapoo!

She is the sweetest little girl, always eager for cuddles, cwtches, and plenty of attention. Digit loves nothing more than curling up beside “Mum” while she works, often taking a nap and bringing a calming presence to the office. She has a special way of ensuring everyone feels happy and stress-free!

Digit has become quite the star among our regular learners at Quinns Training Services, who attend Health & Safety courses. She’s always thrilled to greet you before your sessions, and just so you know, you’re her biggest fan too! Digit never says no to a treat from anyone looking to spoil her.

One of the best things about her is that she’s hypoallergenic and leaves no trace of fur — except for the smiles she puts on everyone’s face by the end of a long day.

Meet Hugo!

While this photograph gives you a glimpse of his charm, it doesn’t quite capture his true size — he’s actually twice as big in person!

His mum often jokes that having Hugo around is like having a pony in the house. Here he is, standing tall and proud with his QTS lanyard. Hugo is very much food-oriented and never turns down a treat (or two).

With his luscious fur and his resemblance to a giant teddy bear, he’s got a personality to match — full of warmth and cuddles. He may be big, but he’s just a gentle giant with a heart of gold!

Meet Chewbacca — yes, just like in Star Wars!

His parents are die-hard sci-fi fans, so it’s no surprise they named him after the iconic Wookiee.

“Chewwy,” as he’s affectionately called, is a bundle of energy and enthusiasm, with the greenest eyes you’ve ever seen, so striking it often feels like he’s peering right into your soul. His fur is incredibly soft, making him feel like a real-life cuddly toy.

Chewbacca is a master of relaxation, and you can usually find him sprawled out on a sofa, perched on an office chair, or curled up under someone’s desk. He’s not picky about whose feet he warms — he loves everyone equally! When it comes to treats, Chewwy is just as indiscriminate, often scavenging for snacks in an unattended bin or a briefcase left open a little too long.

With his playful antics and lovable nature, Chewbacca brings a little adventure and a lot of smiles wherever he goes!

Meet Peanut the Pug!

Peanut is a jet-black whirlwind, darting through the office faster than lightning. When he’s not busy taking one of his famous naps, he’s on a mission, exploring every corner and hunting down anyone who might have a treat to share. Peanut has a special love for carrots and anything else with a satisfying crunch — you can always hear him happily munching away!

As the smallest dog to ever visit our office, Peanut might be camouflaged by sight, but you certainly won’t miss his presence. Whether it’s his playful bark, the pitter-patter of his tiny paws, or his curious sniffs, he makes sure to be seen and heard. Despite his size, Peanut’s big personality fills the room, bringing laughter and joy wherever he goes!

At Quinns Training Services, we are proud to be a dog-friendly office because we believe in the profound impact that animals can have on our mental health and overall wellbeing. The presence of dogs in our workplace has not only made our office a more enjoyable place to work but has also brought us closer together as a team. They make our staff calmer as well as all the delegates who come to our office to undertake courses. We absolutely check that anyone visiting our offices are comfortable with pets as we wouldn’t want to alarm guests.

Book onto one of our fantastic Health & Safety courses at QTS and you may get the chance to meet one of our puppy mascots!
