NERS Passport E-Learning Is Here

NERS Passport E-Learning Is Here

What is NERS e-learning and why we built it

If you manage training for a NERS-registered company, you’ve probably felt the squeeze lately. LRQA has recently tightened its position on whether SHEA Power alone provides sufficient coverage of certain core NERS topics — and for a lot of companies, that’s left a gap between what they thought they had covered and what assessors now expect to see evidenced in its own right.

We built our new NERS Passport e-learning suite directly in response to that gap. Here’s what it is, what’s in it, and why we think it’s one of the first courses of its kind.

What is a NERS passport, and why does it matter?

A NERS passport is the evidence that the operatives working on your sites are competent to carry out the work — it’s exactly what LRQA assessors check against your NERS registration. No passport, no evidence; no evidence, no straightforward path through assessment.

Historically, a lot of that evidence has been pieced together from general health and safety training that wasn’t built with NERS specifically in mind. Our e-learning suite takes a different approach: every module is built around a mandatory NERS passport unit, so what your operatives complete maps directly onto what LRQA is looking for.

What’s in the course

The full suite covers 8 modules, sold individually so you can choose exactly what your operatives need rather than paying for a bundle of topics that don’t apply to your work.

Full NERS Pack – Part 1 (live now):

  • 1:500 Drawing Appreciation
  • Utility PPE Requirements
  • Electricity at Work Regulations
  • ESQCR (Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations)

Full NERS Pack – Part 2 (completing the full set soon):

  • COSHH and Isocyanates
  • Risk Assessment
  • Manual Handling
  • HAVS

Each module runs for roughly an hour, so the full set adds up to about a day of learning — but spread however suits your operation, not ours.

How it works

Delegates complete each module online, at their own pace, wherever suits them — no need to pull a whole team off-site for a classroom session just to cover one or two competency areas. A certificate is issued on completion of each module, ready to drop straight into your competency evidence.

Pricing

  • £20+VAT per module, booked individually
  • £70+VAT for all 4 Part 1 modules (one-time launch offer)
  • £140+VAT for the full set of 8 once Part 2 is live — our standard bundle price

It’s not just e-learning

E-learning covers the operative-facing NERS passport units, but it’s only one half of what’s needed for NERS compliance. We also deliver face-to-face NERS-related training — including SHEA Power, Cable Laying and Winching, Cat 1 & 2 Utility Excavations, SMSTS & SSSTS, Health & Safety Awareness, Abrasive Wheels, Utility Banksperson, and Highfield Emergency First Aid at Work — plus NERS Accreditation Administration Practices for anyone responsible for applying for and maintaining your accreditation in the first place.

If you need help with the registration and accreditation process itself, rather than the training behind it, our NERS Registration Consultancy team can support you through that too — from gap analysis against LRQA’s requirements through to ongoing renewal.
